Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Conduct research to develop new products, manufacturing procedures and specifications for new products
• Review with QA/QC Manager and conducts stability program for new products of R&D batches
• Conduct specific research to comply with client\xe2\x80\x99s general requirements and on a project basis as required
• Prepare R&D samples, ingredients lists, and Certificate of Analysis to go with the samples for customers
• Assist to review relevant GMP procedures
• Monitor and maintain R&D laboratory and testing equipment including purchasing of testing equipment in a cost-effective manner, conduct or arrangement equipment calibrations and preventative maintenance
• Monitor, support and subordinates\xe2\x80\x99 job duties
• Monitor, support and as key contact for Scientific Research and Experimental Development Program (SR&ED) project
• Support marketing and quality assurance/control team in dealing with technical and quality issues raised by customers
• Provide presentation to customers and travel with marketing team to meet customers as required
• Worked on special project as required

QUALIFICATIONS Qualifications:

• Successful and progressive research and product development experience in cosmetics, personal care, toiletries, industry
• Food, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical industry experience and related may also be relevant
• Familiarity with aseptic processing will be an asset
• Ability to work independently and exercise creativity
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and leadership skills

Desired Skills and Expertise:
Required Education and Experience

• B.S. in Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology or Cosmetics Science
• Demonstrated track record of hiring, developing and training high performing teams of scientist and engineers
• Minimum of 10 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in product development
• Minimum of 3 years in R&D management

Preferred Education and Experience

• Master\xe2\x80\x99s Degree or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field
• 10+ years of experience in formulation of skin care products
