The PhD Research Coordinator supports faculty and doctoral researchers in the planning, execution, and management of research projects within the university. The coordinator ensures that research activities run efficiently, comply with institutional and regulatory requirements, and contribute to high-quality scholarly outcomes. This role involves significant collaboration with faculty members, PhD candidates, administrative staff, and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
Research Project Coordination
Assist faculty and PhD researchers in organizing and managing research projects from initiation to completion.
Track project timelines, deliverables, milestones, and overall progress.
Coordinate research logistics, meetings, fieldwork, and study operations.
Maintain accurate project documents, including protocols, reports, and records.
Research Support & Analysis
Support literature searches, data collection procedures, and preparation of research instruments.
Assist with data entry, data cleaning, and basic data analysis.
Contribute to the preparation of manuscripts, presentations, and research outputs.
Ensure data quality, consistency, and secure storage in accordance with university policies.
Ethics & Compliance
Prepare and submit IRB applications, protocol amendments, and continuing review materials.
Ensure that all research activities adhere to ethical guidelines, institutional policies, and national regulations.
Maintain compliance documentation and prepare materials for audits or reviews.
Participant and Stakeholder Coordination
Coordinate participant recruitment, scheduling, and follow-up communications.
Ensure appropriate informed consent processes are followed.
Serve as a point of contact for study participants, collaborating institutions, and research partners.
Administrative & Academic Support
Assist with budget tracking, purchasing, and grant-related paperwork.
Provide administrative support for research seminars, workshops, and academic events.
Organize project meetings, prepare agendas, and follow up on action items.
Qualifications
Required
PHD (MUST)
degree in a related field (e.g., social sciences, education, public health, life sciences)
Experience coordinating academic research projects.
Strong organizational and project-management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Proficiency with research software and tools
Knowledge of research ethics, IRB procedures, and compliance requirements.
Preferred
Experience supporting PhD-level or large-scale academic research.
Training or certification in human subjects research (e.g., CITI).
Experience with qualitative or quantitative analysis software.
Grant writing or research administration experience.
