Role Overview

The

Import / Export & MSME Field Service Expert (Research Associate)

will work closely with

MSMEs at the ground level

to support

import substitution, export readiness, and capacity-building initiatives

under government-led programs such as RAMP.

The role focuses on

field engagement, diagnostics, opportunity mapping, and stakeholder coordination

, ensuring that program interventions are informed by real-world enterprise challenges and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Field Engagement & Data Collection

Conduct

field surveys, MSME interviews, and on-site diagnostics

Capture enterprise-level data related to

imports, exports, sourcing, production, and constraints

Maintain structured records of field interactions and findings

Import Substitution & Opportunity Mapping

Identify

import-dependent products and components

used by MSMEs Map

local manufacturing, sourcing, and capability development opportunities

Support assessment of

technology, skill, and market gaps

at the enterprise level

Stakeholder Coordination

Coordinate with

local industry associations, clusters, chambers of commerce, and government bodies

Support engagement with

district, state, and sector-level stakeholders

Act as a field-level interface between MSMEs and program teams

Reporting & Program Support

Document field findings through

reports, diagnostics, and recommendation notes

Provide inputs for

program MIS, dashboards, and review presentations

Assist in organizing

workshops, training programs, consultations, and outreach activities

Key Deliverables

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree in

Economics, Business Administration, Commerce, Rural Development

, or related disciplines

Experience & Skill Requirements

1-3 years

of experience in: Field research MSME engagement Development programs or consulting support roles Strong

interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills

Ability to engage effectively with

MSME owners, workers, and local stakeholders

Willingness to

travel extensively

within assigned districts or regions Basic understanding of

imports, exports, MSME operations, or government schemes

is an advantage
