WHO WE ARE LOOKING FORA degree is not essential, we are looking for someone who:

• Is aligned with Ashaya's vision, mission and its guiding principles.

• Is a fresher or entry-level candidate (less than a year of experience)
• Is a doer who wants to work in chemistry and material innovation with diverse technical competencies in the field of material science/polymer technology, understanding of structure-property relationship of organic molecules or polymers.
• Has basic knowledge of material development and characterization techniques using various analytical tools such as (FTIR, NMR, UTM. HPLC, GC, MFI, IV Calcs).
• Is comfortable working in a start-up R&D laboratory with chemicals, glassware, stirrers, distillers and filtration processes.
• Loves to solve complex problems while embracing uncertainty.
• Is flexible at work, open to doing even the smallest tasks in our lab.
• Is a learner, a doer and a self-starter, looking to grow as an individual on a technical and personal level.
• Ideally lives in Pune, India and is willing to work in Bhosari MIDC. If located outside of Pune, should be able to move to Pune immediately.
• Is available to start immediately.

You will:

• Run regular chemical reactions focused on plastic recycling.
• Support existing projects and in medium/long-term innovation projects in the field of organic, polymeric and sustainable materials.
• Execute and support on material characterization and testing (MFI, FTIR, UTM, HPLC, GC, IV Calcs).
• Generate ideas (and execute on them) to improve our overall research process.
• Support the overall research and development initiatives to make Ashaya a cutting-edge organization in the waste management space.
• Work closely with the rest of the team in a fast-paced, energetic, start-up environment to optimize our organization to perform at its peak. This includes being open to doing the smallest of tasks, in addition to the more complex ones.
• Be a part of the founding team to shape Ashaya's goals, its culture and its future.

Your compensation:We understand that joining an early-stage start-up is a risk. With that in mind, we offer:

• An annual cost-to-company (C2C) of Rs 3.6 Lakhs. We are ideally looking for freshers with a Bachelors degree in Chemistry / Chemical Engineering, with no or less than a year of experience so this is non-negotiable.
• Equity in the legal entity that vests over an agreed-to tenure.
• A 3-month mutual incubation period. Both you and we will have an option to end the agreement after three months if it isn't working out.
• We provide benefits such as health insurance, flexible work hours (including unmonitored vacation) and Provident Fund contributions.
• We have a 4.5 day work week, and believe in the importance of productivity over the number of hours worked.
• We believe in self-management (non-hierarchical) where nobody reports to anybody, but instead, we hold each other accountable to outcomes and processes.
