The Research Associate (RA) will play a key role in implementing the research project "Mapping the distribution of Invasive Alien Fishes (IAF) and assessing their threats to native biota in selected Ramsar wetlands of India." The RA will be responsible for coordinating and conducting field surveys, collecting environmental DNA (eDNA) samples, supporting laboratory work, analyzing data, and contributing to the development of management strategies for invasive alien species. The role also includes engaging with local stakeholders and supporting citizen science initiatives. This position requires strong field research skills, ecological knowledge, stakeholder engagement, molecular ecology familiarity, and excellent organizational abilities.
About the Project

This project aims to:
Map and monitor IAF in selected Ramsar sites using non-invasive eDNA methods.
Assess dietary impacts of IAF on local species using a meta-barcoding approach.
Develop practical management strategies to address IAF impacts.
Engage local communities through citizen science monitoring and awareness activities.
