Job Profile
1.Support design, implementation, and monitoring of carbon finance projects.
2. Prepare and manage monitoring plots, collect and analyze carbon stock data (AGB/BGB), and contribute to GHG quantification reports.
3. Apply Remote Sensing & GIS tools (ArcGIS, QGIS, ENVI, SNAP, ERDAS) for agroforestry mapping, plantation monitoring, and carbon estimation.
4.Prepare project reports, monitoring deliverables, stakeholder consultation documents, and communication material.
5.Assist in writing project proposals, RFPs, and EOIs for ongoing and future carbon finance/forest restoration initiatives.
6.Organizing/participate in internal and external meetings, workshops, conferences, and other dissemination activities
7.Writing and participating in publications (scientific papers, policy briefs, opinion pieces, etc.)
8.Comfortable to travel (domestic & international)
Experience
0 - 1 Years
Qualification
Master-s degree in Forestry- GIS & Remote Sensing - Natural Resource Management- Geography- Environmental Management or related fields.
Desired Experience : 0-2 years ((including internships/consultancies).
Prior experience with:
- Carbon finance projects (under VERRA- Gold Standard- Plan Vivo- or CDM frameworks).
- Monitoring carbon stock data- preparing datasets- and coordinating with field stakeholders.
Skills
- Knowledge of carbon finance standards and markets - VERRA (VCS)- Gold Standard- Plan Vivo - and their monitoring/verification requirements.
- Strong grounding in Geography and Environmental Science- including spatial analysis- ecosystem processes- climate systems- and socio-ecological linkages.
- Understanding of climate change- forest management- NDCs- carbon markets- forest landscape restoration- and ecosystem services.
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word- Excel- PowerPoint- etc.)- Email communication skills; Basic understanding of statistical packages- GIS/RS will be preferred
