Position Title: Field Supervisor

Position Purpose
The Position is to support research scientists in conducting micro plot field trials and also to conduct experiments/trials by preparing the planting material in greenhouse. Field Supervisor will also assist research scientists in making the applications & other lab activities.
Strategic Responsibilities
Trials in open field

• Carry out micro plot field trials of pesticides, fungicides and nematicide products.
• Prepare the trial field and make trial layout as per the protocol.
• Implement package of practices for better crop development from sowing to till trials is finish.
• Assist Research Scientists in preparation of applications and follow spray schedule.
• Prepare treatment labels prior to application as per the experimental design.
• Assist in recording high quality data collection and data entry.
• Assist in artificial insect release and inoculation of target plant pathogen.
• Ensure proper disposal of the treatment material and plant biomass as per the guidelines.
• Submit indent for MFT input requirement and manpower requirement for field trials.
• Ensure work related PPEs must be worn and follow the safety policy.

Green house operations and managemnt

• Produce quality & healthy seedlings in the nursery.
• In advance planning to complete the seeding / transplanting plan/ assign work & giving updates regularly.
• Regular follow of nursery management with critical observations/ findings, giving updates to supervisor on time.
• Ensure all seedling deliver to the compound testing free from insect infestation & disease infection
• Keep all nursery area disease & insect free.
• Keeping attendance record of worker.
• Support in keeping record of all seed material with delivery date/ sowing date, transplanting date & delivery for compound testing.
• Ensure to give in advance plan for purchase of seeding material, growing media, trays, fertilizer, micronutrient, maintenance pesticides, autoclaving material, water canes & pots.
• Follow best practices for maintenance of best condition in green house.
• Timely collecting hazardous waste from green house, packing inside chamber & autoclaving.
• Maintain all record for hazardous waste management.
• Ensure quality standards and health safety of all greenhouse nursery
• Accepting responsibility and personal ownership for actions, results and risks.
• Keep accurate records of all matters relating to the operation of the greenhouse
• Ensure work related PPEs must be worn and follow the safety policy.
• Maintain the stock register and site maintenance (machinery and equipment's)

Operational Responsibilities

• Act as a committed ambassador of PI Brand
• Remain at the cutting edge of knowledge required for the new a.i. discovery activity in crop protection through constant updating of personal knowledge and own skill-sets

Education Qualification
Bachelor degree in biology/microbiology/agriculture
Work Experience

• Experience in conducting field trials and data recording.
• Experience in greenhouse nursery/ handling lab equipment
• Experience in biological activity/ agriculture activity.
• Successful track record
• Experience in working in laboratory
