At Aminu, we don't just create skincare, we craft experiences that are clean, effective, and deeply sustainable. We're looking for an R&D Associate who is detail-oriented, organized and passionate about beauty science to join our production team and help bring the future of skincare to life.
What you will do:
Monitor and maintain required environmental and process conditions to ensure product quality during storage, handling, and production.
Dispense and manage raw materials as per production plans and R&D requirements, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and proper documentation.
Track inventory usage and analyse future raw material and packaging needs based on project timelines, batch plans, and upcoming launches.
Coordinate closely with external manufacturing partners (AVD) to:
Support smooth execution of pilot, scale-up, and bulk production batches
Ensure adherence to approved formulations, SOPs, and quality standards
Flag deviations, risks, or delays early and work with teams to resolve them
Align batch schedules, manpower readiness, and material availability
Act as the primary coordination point between AVD, internal R&D, QC, and operations teams for day-to-day production-related communication.
Work closely with the R&D team to support formulation trials, scale-up learning, and process improvements.
Participate in and support quality checks, in-process controls, and post-production QC activities to ensure product integrity and compliance.
Assist in documenting observations, deviations, corrective actions, and learnings during production and scale-up runs.
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to process efficiency, quality consistency, and production scalability.
Overall, represent and maintain a strong, professional image of AMINU as a brand at all times.
What we're looking for:
A background in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Pharmacy, or a related field.
3-4 years of experience in Skincare/Personal Care Research and Development.
Strong understanding of cosmetic ingredients, safety testing, and regulatory frameworks.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and documentation skills.
A curious mind that loves experimenting, learning, and solving problems.
Passion for sustainability and skincare innovation.
