Overview of the role

Euromonitor International is establishing a close knit 'One Research' team in Bangalore, consisting of a mix of data analysts and insights analysts. Our in-house team of data experts will be leveraging all possible efficiencies in terms of cutting-edge mixed research methods, data analytics, modelling and forecasting to produce centralized data files, integrated sources, pre-estimates for research and basic data checks. We are recruiting for insight analysts to work in tandem with this team.

The insight analyst is tasked with the direct research for the Indian market across a range of FMCG industries through conducting trade interviews with stakeholders, undertaking desk research, engaging in data analysis and market reporting. In your role, you will liaise closely with data analysts to ensure all the feedback received during client engagements is incorporated into the research and high-quality data and analysis is produced at the end of the project. You will work with our publication schedules and ensure that projects are completed in a timely manner and to our exacting high-quality standards. Key responsibilities

  • Secondary research: gathering and scrutinizing information from a variety of industry/company sources. The analyst should use this as an opportunity to gain knowledge about latest consumer trends to have more meaningful conversations with clients
  • Client engagement and trade interviews: direct contact with companies and industry experts to enhance quantitative and qualitative information available in the public domain. Insights analyst needs to develop close contacts across industries to ensure a strong depth and breadth of insights into market performance and trends
  • Input feedback: the insights analyst needs to feedback all relevant inputs collected from primary and secondary research to the data analyst and ensure that the feedback is incorporated into pre-research data provided by data analyst
  • Data checking: running data checks at a category and market level to ensure that the sizes, growth rates and rankings make sense
  • Content production: writing in-depth country analysis that explains the data, highlights trends and provides reasons for forecast data for our client base
In addition, an insights analyst is expected to build industry knowledge, stay up to date on latest industry trends and the performance of local players and to share knowledge with other analysts both within the Bangalore office and across the Asia-Pacific region. Within the Bangalore office the analyst will work with both Sales and Consulting teams as a subject matter expert.

The analyst will act as a Euromonitor voice for the industries they represent by attending conferences and participating in PR activities such as webcasts, videocasts etc as required.

The insights analyst is expected to take full ownership for their key responsibility and share equal responsibility with the data analyst for data finalisation and client queries.

Requirements:

Skills / Proficiencies required
  • A master's degree in business, marketing or another related field with proficiency in English
  • 2+ years of market research track record. Experience in syndicated research preferred
  • 2+ years of subject matter expertise in one or more consumer goods industry preferably for India
  • Expertise/ exposure to working with external clients for trade interviews, handling client queries and other engagements
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to interpret, analyses and present statistics in an interesting way
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team, including cross-office collaboration around the world
  • Experience in writing content including reports, whitepapers, briefings etc
