Responsibilities
Teach English language and literature to students of Grades VI?X in accordance with the CBSE syllabus
Plan and deliver engaging lessons covering grammar, prose, poetry, comprehension, composition etc.
Assess student progress through tests, quizzes, assignments and provide timely feedback
Support students who need extra help through remedial classes or additional practice
Foster an interactive classroom environment that encourages speaking, reading, writing and listening skills
Encourage students' participation in English related activities (debates, elocution, creative writing, dramatics etc.)
Maintain discipline and a positive, inclusive learning atmosphere
Maintain academic records: attendance, grades, lesson plans and exam reports
Prepare students for internal and board examinations
Collaborate with other teachers on curriculum development and share best practices
Keep updated with CBSE guidelines, modern pedagogical methods and use of teaching aids / technology
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's or Master's degree in English (Honours or equivalent)
B.Ed (Bachelor of Education) is mandatory
Minimum 2?3 years of teaching experience as TGT English in a CBSE school preferred; fresher may be considered if strong subject knowledge
Excellent command over spoken and written English
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to use creative and interactive teaching methods
Good classroom management skills
