About the role:

  • Responsible for all bases of Accounting - US Statutory/Blue books, IFRS and US GAAP
  • Seeking out continuous coaching (formal / informal) from both local and US team members
  • Challenge him/herself for ongoing enhancements by exploring advance Technological solutions
  • You have an insurance background, ideally involving good knowledge of the key processes and how to gain insight into these processes via the data produced. Specific L&H experience is an advantage
  • Additional tasks and responsibilities will include the following:
  • Ensuring successful and timely statutory close by reporting Financial Statements and underlying Schedules, Exhibits, General Interrogatories etc. to the regulators
  • File and Bank processing, premium tax related payment and processing
  • Prepare Quarterly & Annual reporting, submit quality output
  • Performing critical delivery of daily/quarterly/monthly work product
  • Ensure process controls are adhered consistently
  • Preparation of certain internal client/regulatory/audit deliverables
  • Participation in long-term projects
  • Managing the seamless communication between US and Bangalore Team members
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Experience working with changing priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to meet stringent deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and a strong self-starter attitude.
About the team:

L&H Americas Carrier Reporting team is responsible to deliver accurate and timely financials; manage statutory capital requirements for the legal entity/Branch; understand and analyze the key business drivers. As a member of this team, you will be responsible for Carrier reporting in support of the Americas L&H Reinsurance carrier - Swiss Re Life and Health America ("SRLHA")

We are looking for an experienced Finance professional that will be responsible for completing duties across multi- bases of Accounting - US GAAP, US Statutory and Economic Value Management (Swiss Re's proprietary integrated economic valuation framework). You will assume responsibility, together with the local Accountants in US and Bangalore, for the end-to-end Accounting & Reporting process of the American carrier. Your duties will be performed in compliance with local / Group requirements and the internal control framework.

About you:
  • CA/CPA/MBA/M.com or any equivalent educational qualification
  • 4 - 7 years relevant work experience in an accounting or financial analysis
  • Strong preference to L&H Insurance accounting and reporting
  • Prefer candidate that possesses experience in working with North American company and are familiar with North American business practices and culture
  • Proficiency in MS office application (Excel, Power point, Word)

  • Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively and participate meetings efficiently; able to communicate complex business information concisely to the senior management
  • High awareness of risks in own area of responsibility and related processes; take controls as designed; reviews, updates or defines controls and processes
  • Self-motivated and independent; able to work under pressure and meet deadlines; strong analytical skills to solve complex tasks
  • Fluent in English
