The Repair & Maintenance Executive is responsible for ensuring that clinic facilities, equipment, and infrastructure remain fully operational, safe, and well-maintained. This individual coordinates maintenance tasks, performs routine repairs, and collaborates with vendors to support seamless veterinary care operations.

Key Responsibilities1.

Facility Maintenance



Conduct routine inspections (daily, weekly, monthly) across clinic areas: treatment rooms, kennels, waiting areas, parking, and utilities. Identify and promptly address maintenance issues--plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, and structural. Plan and schedule preventive maintenance to prevent disruptions.

Equipment Maintenance



Monitor, maintain, and service medical and non-medical equipment (e.g., X-ray, ultrasound, sterilizers, autoclaves). Maintain equipment maintenance logs and work with vendors/technicians for timely servicing.
3.

Coordination & Vendor Management



Engage and manage external contractors and service providers for specialized repairs. Obtain quotes, manage budgets, schedules, and oversee quality of work to ensure industry and company standards.
4.

Inventory & Supplies



Keep track of spare parts and maintenance supplies. Reorder proactively to prevent downtime.
5.

Safety & Compliance



Ensure facilities comply with safety and veterinary regulatory standards. Immediately report hazards or non-compliance issues and oversee their resolution.
6.

Budgeting & Cost Control



Support budgeting by forecasting maintenance costs. Track expenditures and optimize costs without compromising on service quality.
7.

Record-Keeping & Reporting



Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, equipment service history, and inventory. Prepare periodic maintenance reports highlighting key tasks, upcoming needs, and issues.
8.

Support Clinical Operations



Collaborate with veterinary staff to ensure maintenance work does not interrupt patient care. Assist during emergencies such as utility failures or unexpected equipment breakdowns.
Qualifications & SkillsEducation & Experience

Diploma/degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical, Facilities Management, or related field. Minimum 2-5 years of experience in facilities maintenance, ideally in medical, veterinary, or service operations.
Technical Skills

Proficient in diagnosing and repairing building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.). Understanding of veterinary clinical equipment or willingness to learn.
Soft Skills

Strong problem-solving and organizational skills. Excellent communication ability when liaising with clinical staff, management, and vendors. Detail-oriented, proactive, ability to work independently.
Other Requirements

Willingness to work in rotational or on-call shifts, especially in emergencies. Basic IT literacy for maintaining digital logs and coordinating with clinic information systems.
