Position Overview

We are looking for a

Remote CAD Designer (Solar PV Systems)

to create accurate and code-compliant solar design drawings based on site survey information. This is a remote role ideal for individuals with strong CAD skills who want to work in the renewable energy industry.

Hours:

35-40 hours per week (full-time availability preferred) Flexible working hours, but must meet deadlines and coordinate with U.S. team hours when required.

Key Responsibilities

Draft solar PV system layouts, roof plans, and array designs in AutoCAD (or equivalent). Produce accurate electrical single-line and three-line diagrams. Prepare permit-ready drawing sets that comply with NEC and local AHJ requirements. Convert site survey notes, photos, and field measurements into complete CAD drawings. Revise designs as needed for AHJ corrections, utility requirements, and project updates. Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and surveyors to ensure accuracy. Maintain organized drawing files and templates.

Qualifications Required:

Proficiency in AutoCAD (or equivalent CAD software). 1+ year of drafting/design experience (solar experience preferred). Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, electrical layouts, and site survey data. High attention to detail and ability to deliver error-free drawings. Reliable internet connection and ability to work remotely.

Preferred:

Prior experience in solar PV design or electrical CAD drafting. Knowledge of NEC (especially Articles 690, 705, and 230). Familiarity with solar racking systems and permitting processes. Experience with Aurora Solar, Helioscope, or similar tools is a plus.
