The Mechanical Reliability Engineering Manager will lead reliability initiatives for mechanical systems and components used in locomotives. The role requires good communications, strong engineering fundamentals, hands?on understanding of mechanical subsystems, and the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams to improve system performance, durability, and lifecycle reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Lead system reliability engineering efforts for systems including bogies, braking systems, drivetrain, cooling systems, HVAC, enclosures, and structural components.
Conduct root?cause analysis, failure mode identification, and reliability risk assessments.
Collaborate with engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, quality, services, and finance teams to support end?to?end project execution.
Understanding engineering process, reviews and documentation such as Drawings, ECR / ECN, PPAP, verifications and validations.
Analyze field data to identify trends, failure patterns, and improvement opportunities.
Drive reliability improvements through structured problem?solving and continuous improvement methodologies.
Prepare technical reports, presentations, and reliability dashboards.
Work Experience
Required Skills & Experience
Strong understanding of mechanical subsystems, component design, system interfaces, and validation processes.
Experience in rail industry or relevant industries such as automotive, heavy engineering, construction equipment, or industrial machinery.
Good analytical and problem?solving skills with exposure to data analysis tools.
Effective communication and cross?functional coordination skills.
Preferred Qualifications

Hands?on experience with CAD tools such as Siemens NX, SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, etc.
* Working knowledge of reliability tools, statistical analysis, and predictive techniques (Relisoft, etc.).
