Position Summary
The Relationship Manager will be responsible for managing and enhancing relationships with existing and prospective bank customers. The incumbent will ensure the delivery of high-quality banking services, achieve defined business targets, and maintain compliance with internal and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate should possess strong banking experience, excellent interpersonal capabilities, and a customer-centric approach.
Key Responsibilities
1. Client Acquisition & Relationship Management
Develop, nurture, and manage long-term relationships with customers to ensure sustained business growth.
Serve as the primary liaison between the bank and clients, ensuring prompt resolution of service-related matters.
Conduct periodic client reviews to understand financial requirements and recommend appropriate banking solutions.
2. Business Development & Revenue Growth
Achieve assigned sales targets across banking products, including liabilities, assets, investments, and insurance.
Identify opportunities to cross-sell and up-sell products, enhancing the overall wallet share of each client.
Actively participate in business development activities, including referrals, networking, and promotional events.
3. Portfolio Management
Manage an assigned portfolio of clients, ensuring adherence to risk management and compliance guidelines.
Monitor client account performance, financial behavior, and credit exposure to mitigate potential risks.
Ensure timely renewal, documentation, and processing of client requests and banking transactions.
4. Customer Service Excellence
Deliver superior customer service by ensuring timely and efficient handling of client queries and requests.
Coordinate with internal departments--operations, credit, compliance--to facilitate seamless client servicing.
Maintain a service-oriented demeanour, ensuring a professional and positive customer experience.
5. Compliance & Documentation
Ensure strict adherence to all internal policies, standard operating procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
Verify and validate all client documentation in accordance with KYC, AML, and RBI/Regulatory norms.
Escalate any suspicious transactions or deviations as per the bank's compliance framework.
Qualifications & Experience
Educational Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Master's degree or professional certification in banking/finance (Good to have).
Professional Experience
Minimum 2-5 years of relevant experience in banking, financial services, or client relationship roles.
Demonstrated success in sales, customer relationship management, and portfolio handling.
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of banking products and services (retail/SME/corporate as applicable).
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in CRM systems and MS Office applications.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess customer needs and financial profiles.
High level of integrity, professionalism, and adherence to compliance standards.
Ability to work under pressure and meet defined targets within timelines.
