Job Description


As a member of the Regulatory Reporting team, you will join a team focused on monthly and quarterly deliverables. The Regulatory Reporting Associate will be responsible for execution of certain SEC Financial Reporting Modernization requirements (Form N-PORT).

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review monthly Form N-PORT for all assigned mutual funds with the SEC
  • Review financial information for accuracy and analyze various financial relationships
  • Complete all validations and reconciliations
  • Assist with issue resolution
  • Create and enhance department procedures for SEC Financial Reporting Modernization requirements
  • Continuously identify risks, mitigate these risks and improve efficiencies of workflow streams
  • Initiate appropriate communications for any process changes, tips or status updates
  • Assist with system enhancements as necessary for SEC Financial Reporting Modernization requirements
  • Responsible for various centralized activities such as internal reports and information
  • Coordinate and maintain strong relationship with business partners during the preparation/validation of N-Port and regulatory filings. This includes managing production deadlines and resolution of any reporting issues or inconsistencies that arise during the report production and regulatory filing process
Few responsibilities may include assisting the Fund Administration Financial Reporting team in the following ways:
  • Prepare additional reports that are filed with regulatory agencies including the SEC, such as Forms N-CSR, N-CEN, N-MFP, CPO-PQR, and 24F-2
  • Prepare various internal reports and information summaries
  • Prepare annual, semiannual, and quarterly financial reports for the Columbia Mutual Funds and Life and Annuity Products, including financial statements, notes to the financial statements and portfolio of investments.
  • Complete special projects and participate in department initiatives.
Required Qualifications
  • Degree in Finance and / or Accounting is mandatory
  • MBA/M.com with 0 - 3 years of post-qualification experience. Additional qualifications will be a plus.
  • Strong understanding of and work experience in mutual fund investment operations services / fund accounting process.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with InvestOne accounting system and FundSuite Arc/ Financial Reporting software a plus.
  • Technical understanding of the investment industry including a strong knowledge of SEC and IRS regulations and rules and GAAP Accounting standards.
  • Excellent Communication (written and oral), Interpersonal Skills and be an Effective Team Player.
  • Excellent PC skills, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong work ethic with high standards for accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work well with multiple business partners.
  • Highly organized, motivated, and self-directed.
  • Possess positive, teamwork attitude.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with cross-functional teams.
