Regional SQR/AEX Supervisor
POSITION SUMMARY: Supervises Regionally deployed personnel within an assigned geographic area to facilitate Supplier Quality and Expediting risk management activities by engagement with suppliers and other groups as required.

JOB DIMENSIONS: A. Supervision Received

• Reports to and receives operational direction and functional guidance from the BSQE Supplier Shop Service Manager.
• When performing Supplier Quality activities at supplier shops, receives project related direction from Project Supplier Quality Representative \\ Supervisors.
• When performing Area Expediting activities at supplier shops, receives project related direction form Project Expediter \\ Supervisors

• Provides operational and functional supervision to Supplier Quality and Area Expediting personnel assigned to the geographical area of responsibility.

C. Contacts

• Corresponds with the Regional Project Supplier Quality Manager and BSQE Supplier Shop Service Manager on technical issues, new hire interviews and selections, training, and subordinate performance.

• Maintains liaison with project personnel located in offices and at jobsites.
• Contacts Supplier Quality and Area Expediting personnel by phone and by field visits to monitor their performance on assigned orders and provide OJT.
• Maintains communication with supplier management to ensure understanding of and response to project requirements and when necessary, reinforces efforts of individual SQR\xe2\x80\x99s and AEX\xe2\x80\x99s.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitors, controls, and evaluates the activities and performance of regional personal through direct observation at supplier facilities and review of reports and correspondence.
• Performs special tasks or assignments in a specialist capacity based on unique product expertise or knowledge of production processes. Such assignments involve unique project requirements, interfaces, and assumption of additional responsibility.
• As assigned, undertakes the primary SQR and AEX role for major purchases to include functions that may normally be performed by both project and area personnel. Assignment may involve direct follow-up with sub-suppliers and authority to make appropriate sub-assignments, with direction of those concerned.
• Reviews assignments, travel expenses, workloads, itineraries, reports, and other data to assure adequate coverage, workload balance and economical expenditures of job-hours and travel funds.
• Provides initial orientation and training for new personnel. Ensures continued training and coaching. Assists in the planning and conducting of training seminars.
• Provides assistance and arranges for management support when needed. Identifies and solves problems by direct contact with suppliers. Performs special projects as requested by project or global business unit Procurement management. Initiates follow-on actions as necessary.
• Conducts annual reviews and career discussions, when delegated specific authority.
• Promotes interface between SQR\xe2\x80\x99s and AEX\xe2\x80\x99s and other disciplines, such as the Supplier Quality Department.
• Assists in the recruitment of personnel and conducts interviews with persons in assigned area for employment with Bechtel. Makes employment.
• May conduct facility surveys, including an evaluation through independent judgment of the adequacy and implementation of quality assurance programs and manufacturing capabilities and recommends acceptance or rejection of suppliers for incorporation into project bid lists.
• May participate in quality assurance audits and pre-award quality program evaluations to ensure consistency in the evaluation of specialized processes and compliance to federal regulations.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:

• Proficient in SQR and Expediting techniques and procurement practices.
• Good understanding of project and procurement functional responsibilities.
• Enhanced knowledge of manufacturing techniques, and administration.
• Proficient oral and written communication skills.
• Has performed a minimum of 10,000 hours of in-shop supplier quality activities or related experience
