Job Title: Refrigeration Design Engineer Department: Product Development / R&D Location: Sakoli Factory (with visits to client sites as needed) Reports to: CEO / Design Head Experience Required: 3-7 years in refrigeration systems design, preferably in commercial and industrial applications --- Objective: To lead the design and development of refrigeration solutions that complement Modura's stainless steel product line for bakery, kirana stores, dairy, and other commercial retail needs. The engineer will help us add value-added refrigeration-based products to our range, enabling us to serve more sectors and increase our solution footprint. --- Key Responsibilities: Product Design & Development: Design and develop refrigeration units integrated with stainless steel display counters, cabinets, or storage equipment. Create concepts, 2D/3D drawings, and BOMs for bakery coolers, kirana store cold racks, dairy chillers, and food preservation units. Select appropriate refrigerants, compressors, condensers, and insulation based on energy efficiency and application. Collaboration with Fabrication & Design Teams: Work closely with our SS metal processing and fabrication teams to ensure seamless integration of refrigeration units. Guide sheet metal design engineers in accommodating ducting, ventilation, and cooling component layouts. Innovation & Prototyping: Develop prototypes and test performance under actual operating conditions. Improve product efficiency, cooling uniformity, and cost-effectiveness. Compliance & Safety: Ensure all refrigeration products meet IS/ISO standards, energy ratings, and safety norms. Maintain documentation for certification and approvals. Vendor & Material Coordination: Recommend reliable refrigeration parts suppliers and stay updated on new technologies. Support in BOM preparation, sourcing of compressors, fans, and electronic controls. Customer & Market Insight: Analyze customer requirements from bakery, kirana, and F&B retail segments. Provide technical support during client discussions or site visits for customized cooling solutions. --- Key Skills Required: Strong understanding of refrigeration cycles, thermodynamics, and HVAC-R principles. Experience with design tools like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar. Familiarity with cold storage units, display chillers, and custom cooling cabinets. Knowledge of compressors (Emerson, Danfoss, Tecumseh), refrigerants (R134a, R404a, R600a), and cooling control systems. Practical knowledge of thermal insulation, electrical wiring, and safety systems. --- Preferred Qualification: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Refrigeration, or HVAC Engineering Additional certification in Refrigeration Design or HVAC will be a plus --- Why Join Us?
