Position Overview: We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Recreation Manager to lead and innovate our resort's recreation and activities programs. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of hospitality-based recreation, a passion for creating memorable guest experiences, and the ability to manage diverse activities ranging from water sports to evening entertainment events. Additionally, the Recreation Manager will oversee the daily operations of our luxury spa, ensuring seamless scheduling, effective team management, and revenue generation through spa upselling. This role is essential for enhancing guest satisfaction through high-quality, safe, and engaging recreational and wellness options that align with our brand's luxury image.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Development : Design and implement a comprehensive recreation program, including daytime and evening activities, such as water sports, beach activities, fitness classes, wellness programs, and seasonal events tailored to guests' preferences.
- Evening Entertainment : Organize and host evening fun games and activities for guests, including bonfires, tambola, family games, music nights, and social gatherings, ensuring an enjoyable experience for all age groups.
- Spa Operations : Oversee the daily operations of the spa, including scheduling appointments, coordinating therapists, and ensuring smooth workflow for all spa services.
- Upselling Spa Therapies : Actively promote and upsell spa treatments and wellness packages to guests, enhancing their experience while driving revenue.
- Guest Engagement : Develop personalized activity and wellness options for guests based on age, group size, and interests to provide a unique recreational experience.
- Team Leadership : Recruit, train, and manage a team of recreation and spa staff, ensuring high service standards, professionalism, and adherence to safety and wellness protocols.
- Safety and Compliance : Ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations, manage equipment maintenance, and conduct risk assessments for each recreational program and spa treatment.
- Budget Management : Oversee the recreation and spa departments' budgets, manage inventory for supplies and equipment, and identify cost-effective solutions without compromising guest experience.
- Collaboration with Other Departments : Work closely with marketing, F&B, and guest services to promote activities, support events, and create an integrated experience for guests.
- Guest Satisfaction : Monitor and respond to guest feedback, continuously improving programs to exceed guest expectations.
- Reporting and Analysis : Track participation metrics, prepare reports on recreation and spa program effectiveness, and recommend improvements based on insights and trends.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Recreation Management, Spa Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in recreation or spa management, preferably within luxury resorts or hospitality environments.
- Proven leadership skills, with experience in managing and motivating teams.- Strong knowledge of recreational activities, wellness programs, spa services, and guest service standards.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a guest-oriented approach.
- Proficient in budgeting and financial management, with experience in upselling and revenue generation.
- First Aid and CPR certification preferred.- Knowledge of water sports, beach activities, spa therapies, and evening social games like tambola is a plus.
