Department Profile

IM Operations

This Operations group supports the equity, fixed income, liquidity and alternative businesses for Client Investment Management (IM), providing middle-office services including portfolio manager support, client services, portfolio transitions, market registration, product data and performance and attribution analysis. IM Operations also provides mutual fund support, derivative processing, and counterparty and credit event management.

Background on the Team

IM has deployed a 3rd party system for booking Fixed Income trades across regions. This system is a combination of trading and accounting system which means it maintains its own books of accounts. IM has its own accounting system too. This necessitates a reconciliation to be done between the 3rd party system and IM accounting system to ensure they are in sync.

Similar reconciliation is required for the Equity accounts.

The various types of reconciliations done are Cash, positions, NAV and Performance.

Responsibilities include performing Cash, Position, NAV and Performance reconciliation on daily basis. This reconciliation is to be completed prior to the start of trading hours for the respective region and hence is highly time sensitive. The objective of the reconciliation is to provide traders with accurate cash & positions.

This position will be located in Mumbai, India office of IM and would require the individual to work closely with Operations teams in our international offices.

Primary Responsibilities

• Adhering to Service level agreements with global counterparts to ensure deliverables are signed off as per agreed timelines.
• Liaising with global counterparts and vendor to ensure accuracy of books and records
• Understanding of Fixed income and Equity product profiles.
• Periodic Risk and Exception reporting to senior management
• Involvement in projects related to the job function

• Relevant prior experience in reconciliations will be an added advantage
• High degree of computer literacy, including working knowledge of Windows-based applications
