Summary
The QSR Receptionist/Host is the first point of contact for all guests, setting the tone for their dining experience. This role is responsible for greeting customers, managing the flow of guests, handling phone inquiries, and providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Services & Front of House Management
Warmly greet all customers immediately upon entry with a friendly, positive demeanor.
Manage the flow of the dining room (if applicable), including guiding guests to tables, managing waitlists, and providing accurate wait time estimations.
Answer the main restaurant phone line, professionally managing inquiries, taking reservations (if applicable), and routing calls to the correct staff member.
Process and coordinate all to-go and delivery orders with accuracy, ensuring they are ready for pick-up/dispatch on time.
Handle guest feedback, complaints, or issues with patience and professionalism, escalating them to a manager when necessary.
Be knowledgeable about the menu, ingredients, daily specials, and promotional offers to accurately answer customer questions.
Operational & Administrative Duties
Operate the Point-of-Sale (POS) system for order processing, taking payments, and accurately handling cash and credit card transactions.
Maintain a clean, organized, and presentable reception/host stand area at all times.
Assist the service team with basic tasks during peak hours, which may include light bussing, running food/drinks, or restocking supplies (napkins, silverware, etc.).
Manage and distribute daily mail, deliveries, and communications.
Monitor and maintain an adequate supply of menus, takeout materials, and promotional flyers.
Adhere to all company policies, safety standards, and health regulations.
Qualifications and Skills
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Proven experience in a customer service, hospitality, or restaurant-related role.
Exceptional verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to stand for extended periods and move quickly in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with computer systems, including POS (Point-of-Sale) software.
A professional, friendly, and calm demeanor, especially when working under pressure.
Preferred
Previous experience in a Quick Service or Fast Casual restaurant setting.
Familiarity with reservation management or online ordering platforms.
Basic cash handling and reconciliation skills.
Reporting Relationship
The QSR Receptionist/Host reports directly to the Shift Manager or General Manager.
