The Receptionist will serve as the first point of contact for patients, attendants, doctors, and visitors. The role requires courteous patient handling, accurate registration, coordination with clinical departments, and maintaining front desk efficiency while ensuring confidentiality and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Handling & Front Desk Operations
Greet patients and visitors politely and assist them with registration, enquiries, and directions.
Manage patient registration (OPD/IPD), appointment scheduling, and queue management.
Coordinate with nursing stations, doctors, billing, and diagnostics for smooth patient flow.
Administrative & Documentation Duties
Maintain accurate patient records (HMIS software).
Verify patient documents, IDs, insurance cards, and referral details.
Generate OPD slips, admission forms, and assist with discharge coordination.
Communication & Coordination
Attend and route incoming calls professionally.
Provide correct information regarding hospital services, doctors' availability, and timings.
Handle patient and attendant queries, complaints, and feedback politely and escalate when required.
Coordinate with housekeeping, security, and transport services as needed.
Billing & Cash Coordination
Assist billing desk with basic billing-related queries.
Accept payments and issue receipts.
Ensure cash and documents are handed over properly.
Experience
1-3 years of experience as a receptionist/front office executive in a hospital or healthcare setup. (Preferred)
