Role Overview
The Rebar Estimator is responsible for analyzing structural drawings, interpreting project specifications, and preparing accurate rebar quantity take-offs (QTO). This role directly supports bidding, project costing, and business development through precise estimation and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Review and interpret structural/architectural drawings, RFIs, and project specifications.
Prepare detailed and accurate rebar quantity take-offs using industry-standard tools.
Identify bar sizes, grades, laps, hooks, bends, and development lengths as per codes.
Prepare BOQs, bar lists, tonnage summaries, and project estimation sheets.
Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams for clarifications.
Evaluate design changes and re-estimate quantities when required.
Ensure all estimates follow ACI, CRSI, BS, IS codes (as applicable).
Support the sales team with estimation inputs for quotations and proposals.
Maintain an organized estimation database for productivity and tracking.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Diploma / B.E. in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
1 5 years experience in rebar estimation (U.S./Canadian projects preferred but not mandatory).
Strong knowledge of structural drawings, rebar codes, and construction practices.
Proficiency in tools like Bluebeam, Planswift, Adobe, Excel, or equivalent.
Strong mathematical accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
