Job Summary

The Rebar Engineer / Reinforcement Detailer is responsible for preparing accurate reinforcement detailing, Bar Bending Schedules (BBS), and shop/coordination drawings in line with structural designs, project specifications, and applicable international codes. The role focuses on constructability, material optimization, and adherence to quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) based on structural drawings. Develop detailed rebar shop drawings for RCC elements including footings, columns, beams, slabs, and walls. Coordinate with structural engineers, quantity surveyors, and site teams to resolve detailing and execution issues. Ensure compliance with approved drawings, design codes, and project specifications. Optimize reinforcement quantities to reduce material wastage and improve constructability. Support quantity take-offs, reconciliation, and material control. Review structural drawings to identify clashes, discrepancies, or missing details. Assist site teams with rebar placement, lap lengths, anchorage, cover, spacing, and bending details. Maintain drawing revisions, records, and as-built reinforcement documentation.
Software & Tools

AutoCAD - Mandatory MS Excel - For BBS preparation and quantity tracking Revit Structure / BIM 5D tools - Added advantage Rebar detailing software (e.g., Rebar CAD) - Preferred
Codes & Standards

ACI 318 / ACI Detailing Manual BS 8666 / Eurocode 2 IS 2502 / IS 456 Project-specific international standards (FIDIC-aligned projects)
Required Skills & Competencies

Strong understanding of RCC detailing principles Good knowledge of laps, anchorage, cover, spacing, and bending rules Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and design notes High attention to detail and accuracy in quantity calculations Effective coordination and communication skills
Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering 2-5+ years of experience in rebar detailing or RCC projects Experience in high-rise, infrastructure, or industrial projects is preferred
Preferred Industry Experience

Residential and commercial high-rise buildings Infrastructure projects (bridges, metro, roads) International EPC, PMC, or outsourcing environments
