We are hiring a
Real Estate Finance & Reporting Lead
to own financial operations, reporting, and performance analysis for a UK-based real estate portfolio. This role sits at the intersection of accounting, commercial analysis, and asset performance--ideal for a finance professional who enjoys working closely with operations, asset management, and leadership teams.
You will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, strengthening controls, and delivering insights that directly support decision-making across residential and student accommodation assets.
What You'll Be Responsible For
Portfolio Finance & Rent Economics
Oversee rent income accounting, reconciliations, arrears monitoring, and deferred income tracking.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of rental cash flows across multiple properties.
Monitor collection trends and highlight risks and opportunities.
Management Reporting & Performance Analysis
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports for property portfolios.
Perform variance analysis against budgets and forecasts with clear, actionable commentary.
Develop insights on occupancy, yield, cost drivers, and asset-level performance.
Commercial & Strategic Support
Partner with asset management, operations, and commercial teams to support business decisions.
Provide financial analysis to evaluate asset performance and improvement opportunities.
Support budgeting and forecasting cycles for property portfolios.
Controls, Compliance & Accounting Operations
Maintain strong financial controls aligned with internal policies and UK accounting standards.
Post journals including accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and adjustments.
Perform daily to monthly bank reconciliations for property-related accounts.
Support internal and external audits with accurate schedules and documentation.
Systems, KPIs & Process Improvement
Work hands-on with property finance systems such as
Yardi
or
RealPage
.
Track and report portfolio KPIs, translating data into management insights.
Identify opportunities to improve reporting accuracy, timeliness, and automation.
What Will Help You Succeed
Strong experience in
UK real estate or property finance environments
.
Solid grounding in
management accounting, budgeting, and forecasting
.
Confidence working with rent-led income models and multi-property portfolios.
Experience using
Yardi, RealPage, or similar property management platforms
.
Exposure to
student accommodation / PBSA
or residential assets is a strong advantage.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to explain numbers to non-finance stakeholders.
Preferred Background
Qualified or part-qualified
CA / ACCA
(or equivalent).
Experience in property operators, real estate funds, asset managers, or real estate service firms.
Comfortable working in fast-paced, portfolio-driven finance teams.
