Qualifications

MDS in Oral Medicine & Radiology (or equivalent) Minimum

4 years

of teaching experience in a recognized dental institution after postgraduate qualification

Role Summary

The Reader in Oral Medicine & Radiology will be a senior faculty member responsible for teaching, research, clinical diagnosis, and mentoring. The individual will contribute to both academic instruction and patient care in the department.

Key Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate and postgraduate students through lectures, seminars, clinical case discussions, and practical training Supervise MDS students in their research work, dissertations, and clinical training Diagnose and manage orofacial diseases--oral mucosal lesions, pain disorders, TMJ disorders, salivary gland diseases, etc. srdch.ac.in+2jdc.ac.in+2 Interpret and manage radiographic investigations (intraoral, extraoral, CBCT, other imaging) for diagnosis and treatment planning svdcpondy.ac.in+1 Design, lead, and participate in research projects; publish in peer-reviewed journals Carry out community outreach (oral cancer screening, public health programs) and collaborate with health agencies Participate in departmental administration: committees, curriculum planning, quality assurance

Skills & Competencies

Strong clinical expertise in oral medicine, diagnosis of mucosal lesions, pain, medically compromised patients, TMJ, etc. mesdc.edu.in+1 Good knowledge of radiographic techniques and image interpretation (digital radiography, OPG, CBCT) gdchcsn.ac.in Excellent teaching and mentoring skills Research-oriented with experience in grant writing / publications Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to engage with community health programs and interdisciplinary teams

Working Conditions

Full-time role in a dental college Clinical duties in outpatient / hospital setting Teaching load for UG / PG students Participation in field outreach and screening programs Travel may be required for conferences or community initiatives
