Core Responsibilities

Software Development for Mining Applications

+ Design, develop, and maintain software solutions for underground mining operations, focusing on planning, drilling, and reporting functionalities.
+ Implement features such as drill plan generation, 3D visualization of tunnels, charge and ignition plans, and integration with rig control systems (e.g., via USB/WiFi using IREDES format).

Data Handling & Integration

+ Enable reliable data transfer between rigs and central systems, ensuring compatibility with formats like CAD (.dxf) and integration with platforms such as My Epiroc.

User Interface & Experience

+ Develop intuitive interfaces for operators and planners, including dashboards for drill plans, maintenance checklists, and operational KPIs.

System Reliability & Security

+ Ensure robust performance under harsh underground conditions and implement secure data handling practices.

Technical Skills

Programming Languages Desktop

: C#/.NET Framework for Windows desktop applications, WPF and WinForms for UI development.

Programming Languages Web

: JavaScript/TypeScript for frontend development in React.js. C#/.NET for backend services.

Nice To Have

:

Cloud

: Responsive UI design and modern web standards. Knowledge about cloud deployment and techniques (Azure preferred).

Mining Software & Standards

: Familiarity with mining-specific protocols (e.g., IREDES), CAD tools, and drill plan management systems.

Database & Data Processing

: Experience with SQL databases and handling large operational datasets for analytics.

Integration & APIs

: Ability to integrate with other Epiroc data sources. Familiarity of RESTful API integrations.

Version Control & SDLC

: Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and software development life cycle and version control systems (e.g., Git)

Domain Knowledge

Mining Operations

: Understanding of underground drilling processes, mine planning, and safety protocols.

Automation

: Knowledge of automation features for loaders, trucks, and drilling rigs.

Qualifications

Education

: Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field; mining engineering background is a plus.

Experience

: + 3-5 years in software development, preferably in industrial or mining applications.
+ Exposure to geospatial or simulation software is advantageous.

Soft Skills

Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities for complex operational challenges, especially in the simulation and 3D domain. Effective communication for collaboration with geologists, engineers, and operations teams. Adaptability to work in cross-functional, global teams under Agile frameworks. Typically involving communication with other teams in Epiroc in different regions.
