A global leader in the petroleum industry is looking for a Automotive Lubricants and Powertrain Testing - R&D Senior manager. They should be responsible for lubricant development for automotive applications including formulation development, testing and monitoring

Mandatory experience in full lubricant development cycle (mainly on road application : motorcycle and passenger car oils), and
engine testings (mainly conventional).

Experience working on lubricant development projects with OEMs
Possess expertise in engine testing and additive evaluation
Expertise in powertrain testing
Coordination with the global business line for providing technical solutions.
Experience managing a team of 2 to 3 members (technicians and engineers) to conduct assigned work requests and research
Roles and Responsiilities

Performs the R&D work (the routine tests and the development of new methods) related to R&D projects in lubricants

Manages and prioritizes the work and assign the job to engineers and technicians of the team.
Provides regular updates on the work progress to R&D organization and internal clients.
Ensures quality of the test results and publishes memo/technical notes in a timely manner.
Ensures the maintenance, metrology and appropriate follow-up of all equipments under his/her responsibility.
Contributes to the preparation of OPEX and CAPEX budget and long term plans of TCAP.
Conducts literature survey to develop expertise and scientific knowledge in new areas.
Ensures co-ordination with the external labs whenever outsourced activity is required.
Takes into account and coordinate IP activities for all R&D studies undertaken.
Brings new/innovative ideas in domains in charge
Interacts in a collaborative manner with other team members to accomplish organizational goals; provides ideas to improve
organizational and operational efficiency.

Manages the team, supervise and leads team, decide on priorities, distribute work, act as manager-coach.
Facilitates the development and professional growth of assigned technicians and engineers.
HSEQ:

Maintain a safe work environment for self and others, especially in the laboratories for which it is responsible.
Follows the HSEQ management system and keeps the system live by his/her contribution.
Accountabilities-

Timely completion of R&D study assigned and quality of RND work
Follows the technological evolution of techniques, equipments, raw materials and competitors products to keep abreast of latest
developments in domains in charge.

Responsible for the correct implementation and maintenance of TCAP management systems.
Objectifs et livrables

Context and Env-

Maintains a constant relationship with internal clients of Global Business (for Automotive lubricants and engine testings) on R&D

projects.

Contributes to the branch in maintaining a high scientific level.
Develops contacts with OEMs, Equipment suppliers, External laboratories, Universities, Research Centres etc.
Works in very close relationship with CRES, OT teams and Product Engineers
Requiremnets

Chemical or Mechanical engineer of high scientific level. With 10 years of experience (from additives suppliers, lubricant

industries mainly). PhD would be a plus.

Good communication skills
Good interpersonal skills
Open-minded and very creative, with high scientific rigor
Team player
Language level English / Fluent English
