The person will be part of R&I CCD and reports into DGM - Product Intelligence Head
2. JOB ROLE & INTERFACE MANAGEMENT:
The Job description is for a position of Manager/ Sr Manager in Perfumery, leader of Perfume Development Department whose prime role would be development of perfumes/fragrances for entire portfolio of Company / TMC personal care range. This would include (skin care, hair care, deodorants and pain management products). The position also requires having an interface with the formulation team, Technology Transfer Team, Brand team & External Suppliers. The Profile requires the candidate to have an excellent working knowledge in Fragrance Industry in the field of Fragrance Evaluation with sound understanding of Brand. To have a minimum of 8 to 10 years of working experience in Fragrance Industry preferably in Fragrance Evaluation.
3. INNOVATION QUALITY
Independently Leading the perfume development for all the products under Company / TMc Portfolio to include Business Project, Innovation Projects across all categories - skincare & cleansing, hair care & cleansing, Pain Management, deos, fine fragrances etc. All the regulatory aspects, technical and commercial aspects would also be handled by the person.
4. ACTIVITY SPAN
Developing perfumes for the entire portfolio of Company for its skin care, hair care, Deodorant, Pain management products, Home care and feminine hygiene products.
Interaction with other teams and jointly create the fragrance brief, specifications of perfumes, Processing specification, Brand Objectives for the product.
Ensuring the Quality of the Perfume being maintained and is in compliant with the latest global & agreed norms during the commercial scale ups.
Support specific cost saving programs related to perfume formulation and get clearance from the stakeholders.
To create and continuously update the Library - ready reckoner across all categories.
Organising quarterly / twice a year perfumery workshop with the help of perfume houses.
Certification of company expert panel twice a year by perfume houses.
Mapping of company products along with market competition samples - National & International.
5. PERSONAL PROFILE
Key Skills:
Independently Leading the perfume development for all the products under company Portfolio to include Business Project, Innovation Projects, DTV projects across all categories skin, hair and deo category.
The person to be capable of doing trend analysis and category analysis in co-ordination with the fragrance houses to arrive at the right direction for perfume.
The person to also have understanding of fragrance families, notes and should possess excellent olfactory senses.
The person should have a good knowledge in formulation, and evaluation of perfumes in various end products to include oils, creams, shampoos, talcum powder and various other personal care product bases.
To ensure the regulatory aspects of perfumes for National as well as International market for all the products.
Should also have knowledge in skin care, personal care and on pain management products.
Experienced in drafting perfume briefs to include marketing, technical, commercial and regulatory aspects. To guide the fragrance house and communicate the requirement in perfumery language for expressing the exact requirement in terms of fragrance profile.
Knowledgeable of consumer habits, preferences of perfumes basis the cultural and geographical influences.
Should have a good idea of international quality standards in respect of olfactive attributive, and measurable and performance tests.
Interact with other teams and jointly create the claim support docket, fragrance brief, specifications of individual perfume oils and in house blends if any Processing specification, Brand Objectives for the product.
Ensuring the Quality of the Perfume is compliant to the quality of the lab scale batches and is reproducible.
Progress various perfume development projects for launch of new products or variants re-launch of existing products together with claim substantiation, etc.
The person should be capable of selecting financially effective vendors and suppliers for procuring perfumes as per the quality standards and norms.
Support specific DTV / Cost saving programs related to perfumes and get clearance from the stakeholders.
Interact with other core functional teams, eg. Marketing / Brand / Ops for an effective delivery.
Capable of training and developing team members.

Relevant Experiences:
A minimum of 6 to 8 years of working experience in fragrance industry, preferably in fragrance evaluation.
