We are looking for an experienced and innovative R&D Manager to lead our technical department. The ideal candidate will oversee the development, testing, and improvement of our product range, including Wood Coatings, Metal Coatings, Wood Fillers, NC (Nitrocellulose), and PU (Polyurethane) products. You will be responsible for driving product innovation, cost optimization, and ensuring the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:1. Product Development & Innovation:
Lead the design and development of new formulations for Wood and Metal coatings (NC, PU, Primers, Enamels, and Fillers).
Improve existing product performance, durability, and finish to meet market trends.
Stay updated with global chemical advancements and integrate new technologies into the production process.
2. Quality Control & Testing:
Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) for testing raw materials and finished goods.
Conduct rigorous stability tests, weather resistance tests, and application trials.
Ensure all products comply with industry standards and environmental regulations.
3. Cost Optimization:
Analyze current formulations to identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality.
Evaluate and approve new raw material suppliers and alternative chemical substitutes.
4. Technical Support & Troubleshooting:
Work closely with the production team to resolve batch-related issues or manufacturing hurdles.
Provide technical assistance to the sales team and customers regarding product application and performance.
5. Documentation & Compliance:
Maintain accurate records of formulations, lab trials, and technical data sheets (TDS/MSDS).
Ensure the laboratory operates safely and follows all chemical handling protocols.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Paint Technology, or Chemical Engineering.
Experience:
7-10 years of experience in the paint or coating industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership/managerial role.
Technical Expertise:
Deep knowledge of
PU (Polyurethane)
,
NC (Nitrocellulose)
systems, resins, solvents, and additives used in Wood and Metal coatings.
Analytical Skills:
Strong ability to analyze chemical properties and troubleshoot formulation errors.
Leadership:
Proven experience in managing a team of lab technicians and chemists.
Communication:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
