As an R&D Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping and guiding engineering initiatives that bring groundbreaking products and services to life. You'll lead and empower cross-functional R&D teams-including software, hardware, testing, and information design-within a fast-paced, multi-site environment. The Nokia Core Monitor & Troubleshooter (NCMT) product is being developed to enhance cloud-native network observability and troubleshooting capabilities for the Nokia core network functions, leveraging both traditional and ML-driven methods to provide efficient, proactive, and predictive network management.
In this role, you'll be the bridge between global engineering strategies and local execution, fostering alignment, driving collaboration, and ensuring teams are moving in sync. From concept to release, you'll manage the entire product development lifecycle, working closely with key stakeholders across product management, supply chain, quality, and procurement to deliver innovative, high-impact solutions.

  • Establishes and continuously improves key processes and standards to drive efficiency and consistency.
  • Applies deep knowledge of business goals, industry trends, and the goal-oriented landscape to maximize impact and effectiveness.

  • Tackles highly complex or unique difficulties using advanced thorough thinking and sound judgment.
  • Defines the strategic direction for the team or organizational unit, driving forward-thinking concepts and initiatives.
  • Serves as a senior subject matter expert at a regional or global level, recognized internally and externally as a source of best practices.
  • Leads cross-functional teams or high-impact projects, managing resources, mitigating risks, and assisting in day-to-day team development and work allocation.
Qualifications:
You have:
  • A Bachelor's/Master's degree in Engineering or Equivalent and brings over 15 years of experience in software development within Telecommunications Networks, with a strong background in cloud-native architecture, microservices development, and guiding large, cross-functional teams from design through deployment
  • Demonstrates ownership of product and software architecture at the system component level, with expertise in requirement evaluation, feature design, and end-to-end development aligned with modern cloud-native principles
  • Possesses hands-on proficiency in a wide range of technologies, including containers, Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, virtualization, databases, gRPC, CI/CD, DevOps, and open-source integration, paired with strong problem-solving, debugging, and coding skills
  • Adept at navigating complex, ambiguous situations and resolving conflicts while fostering partnerships in diverse, fast-paced, and agile environments, reflecting a startup mindset and engaging in delivering high-quality results under tight timelines
  • Experienced in managing cross-functional interfaces, engaging with internal and external stakeholders, handling customer escalations, and clearly articulating technical design solutions to key partners and clients
It would be nice if you also had:
  • Prior working experience in defining Test Automation & Automation Architecture.
