Job Summary:
We are seeking a
Formulation & Application Development Engineer
to support the R&D team in developing and optimizing resin formulations (epoxy, polyester, PU, etc.) for various end-use applications. This role will involve preparing lab-scale formulations, conducting performance testing, assisting with customer trials, and supporting the scale-up process.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and modify formulations for resins, hardeners, and specialty systems based on
and evaluate critical properties such as:
Pot life
Gel time
Curing profile
Mechanical strength
Adhesion
Electrical performance (in coordination with the testing lab)
Prepare detailed
technical reports and data sheets
for new formulations.
Collaborate with the
QA/QC lab
for testing and analysis of physical, chemical, and performance parameters.
Assist in
scale-up trials
in production and provide technical support during pilot or commercial batches.
Interface with the
sales and technical service
teams to understand customer requirements and tailor formulations accordingly.
Maintain accurate documentation of
experiments, test conditions, and results
.
Contribute to continuous improvement by researching new additives, raw materials, and process enhancements.
Ensure adherence to
lab safety protocols and R&D documentation standards

Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Chemistry OR
B.E. / B.Tech in Polymer, Chemical, or Materials Engineering
Experience:
2-5 years in application development or formulation R&D in resins, coatings, adhesives, composites, or electrical insulation materials
Strong understanding of
formulation principles and material behavior
Familiarity with
curing mechanisms
, formulation-property relationships, and test method interpretation
Good hands-on skills for working in a lab with mixing, dispensing, and testing equipment
Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills
Good communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
Preferred Attributes:
Experience with
epoxy/polyester/PU resin formulations
Exposure to
application testing
like pull-out tests, peel strength, heat resistance, tracking resistance, etc.
Working knowledge of
relevant ASTM, IEC, or ISO standards
