Role Summary

We're looking for a R&D Engineer to own end-to-end product/part design--from concept and 3D modeling to drawings, prototyping, validation, and release to manufacturing. You'll collaborate with production, quality, supply chain, and customers to deliver cost-effective, manufacturable designs on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Create

3D models

and

fully-defined 2D drawings

(dimensions,

GD&T

, tolerances, surface finish, notes). Perform tolerance stack-ups; ensure fit, form, function, and manufacturability (

DFM/DFA

). Select materials/finishes; define specs for

sheet metal, machining, casting, welding,

parts. Build and maintain

BOMs

, part numbers,

Support

prototype

build, supplier discussions, and manufacturing line bring-up; resolve build issues via RCCA/CAPA. Generate technical documentation: assembly instructions, test plans (DVP&R), and release packages.
Required Qualifications & Skills

B.E./ B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

(or equivalent).

2+ years

hands-on experience in mechanical design/product development in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency in at least one major

CAD

tool:

SolidWorks/CATIA/NX/Creo/Inventor

; working knowledge of

AutoCAD

for layouts. Practical understanding of

manufacturing processes

(sheet metal, machining, casting, welding, . Strong problem-solving, ownership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Good to Have (Preferred)

Supplier/Vendor interaction for manufacturability and cost negotiations.
