The R&D Embedded Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing embedded control systems for welding and cutting equipment, such as MMA, MIG, TIG welders, plasma cutting machines, and inverter-based power electronics equipment. The role includes firmware development, hardware interface testing, safety compliance, and supporting new product development.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain firmware for welding and plasma cutting machines.
Work on microcontrollers (STM32, DSP, PIC, ARM Cortex, etc.).
Implement control algorithms for voltage, current, PWM, soft start, and feedback loops.
Develop device drivers for displays (LCD/LED/TFT), sensors, and communication modules.
Support PCB bring-up, debugging, and parameter tuning.
Work with the test team to evaluate arc characteristics.
Perform current/voltage waveform analysis for weld quality.
Support field trials, reliability testing, and certification.
Participate in concept design, prototyping, and pre-production runs.
Prepare engineering change notes (ECN) and release firmware versions.
Prepare firmware architecture documents, test reports, and release notes.
Follow ISO, safety standards (IEC 60974 preferred), and internal SOPs.
Qualification:
B.E./B. Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, or related.

Embedded firmware development (C/C++, RTOS, peripheral drivers), Microcontroller experience (ARM/PIC/STM32), Power electronics understanding (IGBT/MOSFET-based inverter systems), Basic knowledge of welding & cutting processes (MIG/TIG/MMA/Plasma), Hardware debugging, PCB testing, and prototype validation, Ability to test, calibrate, and troubleshoot welding equipment electronics, Strong documentation and cross-functional collaboration skills.
