Job Summary
The R&D Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, prototyping, testing, and continuous improvement of agricultural implements such as rotavators, cultivators, seed drills, disc harrows, threshers, and other farm machinery. The role focuses on innovation, product performance enhancement, durability improvement, and cost optimization to meet farmer needs and market demand.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop new agricultural implements and attachments.
Improve performance, efficiency, and durability of existing products.
Create 2D and 3D designs using CAD software (AutoCAD / SolidWorks / Creo).
Develop prototypes and conduct field trials for product validation.
Identify farmer/customer needs and convert them into product solutions.
Perform material selection, structural analysis, and performance testing.
Collaborate with Production, Purchase, and Quality Control teams for product implementation.
Benchmark competitor products and analyze market trends.
Prepare documentation for new developments, patents, drawings, and trial reports.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering
(Preference for Farm Machinery & Power specialization)
5+ years of experience in Agricultural Implements / Farm Machinery industry.
Strong knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, etc.).
Good understanding of materials (Mild Steel, Boron Steel, Cast Iron, Alloy Steel, etc.).
Hands-on experience in prototype development and field testing.
Analytical thinking and strong problem-solving skills.
