R&D Chemist

Job Purpose:

To support product and process development through research, formulation, synthesis, and scale-up activities, ensuring innovative, cost-effective, and sustainable chemical solutions that meet customer and business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct

research, synthesis, and formulation

of specialty chemicals as per project requirements. Assist in

developing new products

and improving existing formulations to enhance performance, yield, and cost efficiency. Execute

lab-scale reactions

, analyze results, and document observations meticulously. Support in

process optimization

and

scale-up activities

from lab to pilot and plant levels. Prepare and maintain

technical reports, lab notebooks, and analytical data

. Collaborate with

QC, Production, and Process Engineering

teams for technology transfer and process validation. Perform

literature review and patent search

to support R&D innovation and regulatory compliance. Ensure

safe laboratory practices

, adherence to EHS guidelines, and proper waste management. Assist in preparing

Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)

and process safety documentation. Provide

technical support

to customers and internal teams when required.

Qualifications:

Education:

M.Sc. in Chemistry / Organic Chemistry / Analytical Chemistry

Experience:

1-5 years of experience in

R&D, synthesis, or product development

in the chemical industry. Experience in

specialty chemicals, fine chemicals, intermediates, or polymers

preferred. Exposure to

process scale-up

and

analytical characterization techniques (GC, HPLC, FTIR, NMR, etc.)

desirable.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of

organic and inorganic reaction mechanisms

. Hands-on experience in

chemical synthesis, process optimization, and analytical testing

. Good documentation and reporting skills. Proficiency in

MS Office, ChemDraw, and analytical data interpretation

. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork abilities. High commitment to

safety, quality, and innovation
