Role Summary:
The Business Head - Research & Development will lead the R&D function with a strong focus on innovation, product development, and technical excellence. This role is responsible for managing R&D operations, aligning research initiatives with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Vision
Define and implement the R&D strategy in alignment with overall business goals.
Collaborate with executive leadership to prioritize research projects and commercial initiatives.
Develop business cases for new product innovations and raw material business expansion.
R&D Management
Lead, mentor, and manage R&D team.
Oversee new product development, formulation improvements, prototyping, and testing.
Monitor R&D budgets, timelines, and performance metrics.
Ensure IP strategy (patents, trade secrets) aligns with research outputs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with production, quality assurance, procurement, and marketing teams to ensure product readiness and market fit.
Translate R&D outcomes into commercially viable offerings.
Facilitate technology transfer from R&D to manufacturing.
Compliance and Quality Assurance
Stay up to date with scientific, technological, and market trends.
Ensure documentation, certification, and audit-readiness of lab and sales processes
Ensure all R&D and sales activities comply with relevant industry regulations and safety standards.
