Job Purpose: The Technical Library/Drawing Office Incharge plays a critical role in ensuring the mechanical maintenance department operates efficiently by managing technical documentation, drawings, and specifications. This role involves organizing, maintaining, and updating engineering resources to support maintenance, troubleshooting, and projects, ensuring compliance with industry and safety standards.
Responsibilities:
Technical Document and Drawing Management:
Maintain and organize the technical library, ensuring all mechanical drawings, manuals, and documents are cataloged, stored, and accessible.
Regularly update and archive engineering drawings and documentation to reflect modifications and upgrades to equipment and systems.
Coordination with Maintenance and Engineering Teams:
Collaborate with the mechanical maintenance team to provide accurate technical references, drawings, and specifications during repairs and installations.
Assist engineers and technicians in interpreting drawings and technical documents for effective troubleshooting and maintenance.
Drafting and Revision of Drawings:
Oversee the creation and revision of mechanical drawings using CAD software, ensuring alignment with company and industry standards.
Verify the accuracy of drawings and technical documentation provided by vendors or contractors.
Asset Management and Technical Support:
Maintain an inventory of technical manuals, schematics, and supplier documentation for all plant equipment.
Support the procurement team by providing technical specifications and assisting in the review of vendor documents.
Training and Knowledge Sharing:
Train maintenance and engineering personnel in accessing and interpreting technical drawings and library resources.
Act as a resource for internal teams, promoting awareness of the importance of accurate technical documentation.
Support for Maintenance Projects:
Provide technical documentation and drawings to support preventive maintenance and breakdown repairs.
Participate in project planning by providing accurate data for equipment modifications or upgrades.
Reporting and Metrics:
Maintain records of drawing revisions, document usage, and library updates for reporting to management.
Provide periodic reports on the library's status, including any identified gaps or areas for improvement.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities to enhance the accessibility, accuracy, and reliability of technical resources.
Lead or participate in initiatives to digitize and modernize the technical library's resources and systems.

Qualifications:
Education Qualification:
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Design, or a related field.
Work Experience:
3-5 years of experience in technical documentation, drafting, or a similar role within an industrial setting.
Industry Knowledge:
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, equipment, and maintenance practices in the cement manufacturing industry. Proficiency in CAD software for drafting and revising engineering drawings.
