Job Description

Skilled in setting

shedding, picking, beat-up, and transfer timing

. Capable of synchronizing all motions without vibration or weft break.

Ability to assemble, align, and maintain

rapier heads, guide hooks, and rapier tapes

for both left and right-hand transfer. Should understand tape tension, tape path alignment, and head lubrication.

Should be able to adjust

picking cams, rods, buffers, and connectors

to achieve smooth weft insertion.

Skilled in setting

electronic or mechanical weft accumulators

, adjusting yarn tension, and synchronizing with the main loom cycle.

Should know the working of

positive and electronic let-off systems

,

take-up gear ratio settings

, and fabric density control.

Capable of setting and maintaining

warp stop motion, weft stop motion

, and

photo sensors

for correct functioning.

Must know

temple setting, fabric edge control, and weft cutter synchronization

. Also should be able to fix and set

leno or tuck-in devices

.

Knowledge of

oil circulation system

,

greasing points

, and preventive maintenance schedules.

Should understand

basic loom electronics

-- speed sensor, motor control, inverter, proximity sensor, and error reset functions.

Must understand how mechanical settings affect

fabric defects

(e.g., double pick, missing weft, starting mark, center crack, etc.) and be able to correct them.

Ability to

read loom manuals and mechanical drawings

.

Capable of performing

routine loom overhaul and preventive maintenance

.

Knowledge in

Dobby design software

,

gearbox alignment, bearing replacement, and clutch/brake adjustment

.

Understanding of

air and suction systems

used in loom cleaning and waste removal.

Capable of training junior fitters or helpers on loom operation and safety

Maintain

clean loom area and tool discipline

.Report any

abnormal sound, vibration, or oil leakage

immediately.
