Deliver real impact on Australia's heavy haul rail--right from Kolkata.
Worley Consulting is growing our Global Rail Infrastructure Team and we're looking for an experienced Senior Rail Design Engineer with strong hands?on 12d expertise and familiarity with Australian heavy haul rail standards. You'll help shape greenfield rail developments, brownfield upgrades, and track rehabilitation works across Western Australia's Pilbara region--collaborating daily with our Principal Rail Designer based in Perth.
This role will be based in Kolkata, collaborating closely with the Principal Rail Designer in Perth, Western Australia. Expect regular cross?timezone design coordination with project teams supporting Pilbara heavy haul programs.
Championing our rail infrastructure team, you will be responsible for:

• Deliver end?to?end rail civil design--from high?level concept and order of magnitude studies through to IFC?ready detailed design.
• Model and document in 12d, producing accurate geometry, corridors, and earthworks; lead creation of 2D drawings in MicroStation from 12d models (or similar).
• Workshare coordination across Worley offices (including India and Australia) to meet scope, budget, and schedule commitments.
• Support the Principal Rail Designer: clarify scope changes, follow checking procedures, compile multi?source inputs, and develop design packages to required engineering standards.
• Interface with stakeholders--supporting clear communication with engineering peers and customers; proactively resolve requirement discrepancies.
• Stay current with tools, standards, and innovations in rail design; help identify extra design/drafting capacity when needed.

Qualifications
What you'll bring to the role:

• A technical diploma with discipline?specific training (or equivalent blend of education, training, and experience).
• Extensive experience on track civil projects.
• Expert user of 12d for rail/civil design.
• Proven track design and/or large earthworks experience.
• Working knowledge of Australian heavy haul rail standards.
• Demonstrated focus on delivery, quality, and service.

• Bentley Rail/OpenRail proficiency.
• Background in resources sector or linear infrastructure projects.
• Broad civil design experience across mining, energy, and/or infrastructure.
