Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Sonography Technician to perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols. The Sonography Technician will be responsible for producing high-quality images, ensuring patient safety and comfort, and maintaining accurate records. The ideal candidate should have strong technical skills, a patient-focused approach, and a thorough understanding of ultrasound procedures and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures as prescribed by physicians, including abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, and vascular scans as applicable. Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort. Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring proper functioning and image quality. Capture and analyze sonographic images and provide preliminary observations to radiologists or physicians. Ensure adherence to safety, hygiene, and infection control protocols. Maintain accurate patient records, reports, and documentation in compliance with hospital and statutory requirements. Follow guidelines under the PCPNDT Act and ensure proper documentation and confidentiality. Coordinate with radiologists, doctors, nurses, and administrative staff for smooth workflow. Assist in scheduling procedures and managing daily workloads.

Qualifications & Skills

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Medical Ultrasound / Sonography or equivalent. Valid registration with relevant authorities; PCPNDT certification mandatory. 1-3 years of experience as a Sonography Technician; hospital experience preferred. Strong knowledge of ultrasound equipment, anatomy, and scanning techniques. Excellent attention to detail, communication, and patient care skills. Commitment to ethical practices, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance.
