Position:

Radiographer/CT/MRI

Reporting To:

Incharge

Role Purpose:



To ensure excellence in patient care by undertaking diagnostic radiographic procedures with highest level of accuracy and in keeping with defined procedures, standards & protocols, thereby aiding in right diagnosis of patient's ailment and defining appropriate care plan/treatment.

key responsibilities of Radiographer are:



Carrying out imaging procedures with care, competence and ensuring compliance with standards, procedures & protocols:



General:

o Evaluating patients' medical condition and history.

o Interacting with patients to offer them psychological support and address their concerns regarding an imaging procedure.

o Following directions of Radiologist, Clinical Specialist, more experienced staff and departmental protocols where applicable.

o Providing quality service to patients by ensuring that every patient is treated with courtesy, kindness, efficiency, efficacy and confidentiality.

o Operating complex medical instruments such as MRIs, X-ray, and other imaging devices.

o Keeping up to date with current techniques and developments in Radiographic and imaging procedures and to take part in in-service training as required. To actively participate in Continued Professional Development.

X-ray:

o Studying the requisition and checking carefully before taking the x-ray.

o Ensuring that the x-ray is taken of the correct part of the body as indicated in the requisition slip.

o Entering the name and number of each patient in the computer before any procedure.

o Keeping abreast of various rules and regulations regarding charges for different x-ray examinations and making necessary entries in the respective registers.

o Taking proper care of machines and equipment, instruments, furniture in the department and ensuring routine maintenance.

o Loading cassettes with x-ray films.

o Storing unexposed films properly.

o Keeping an account of x-ray films and other supplies.

o Taking precautions to protect oneself, patients and other workers of the department from hazards of radiation.

o Assisting the radiologist in deep x-ray treatments.

o Assisting the radiologist in the training of x-ray technicians.

o Using portable devices to conduct diagnostic scans on patients who can't move to the radiology unit.

MRI:

o Performing MRI Imaging procedures on appropriate anatomical regions in accordance with the standards of practice and protocols of the hospital.

o Completing and signing patient screening form and explaining the procedure to the patient.

o Maintaining patient care, comfort and safety during the procedure.

o Under guidance and approval of Radiologist, administering contrast agents according to the hospital protocols.

Other responsibilities:

o Regularly inspecting diagnostic equipment to ensure they are functional and operate efficiently. To report any defects or problems.

o Maintaining a clean environment inside and outside of the department.

o Following quality assurance guidelines and maintaining patient confidentially.

o Complying with all safety policies and regulations.

o Performing duty as per duty roster and attending to emergency duties when called to do so.

o Attending to any other work that may be assigned by the Incharge.

o Performing additional duties as required by the department.

The Individual: (qualification and experience)



Essential

B Sc in Radiography/ CT/MRI 5+ years of relevant experience in a hospital environment
Desirable

Advance Diploma in Radiography and related domain

KRA

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
