Job Summary

We are seeking a competent Quantity Surveyor with strong CAD design capabilities to support our solar EPC projects. The role will be responsible for quantity take-offs, BOQ preparation, cost estimation, billing, and basic-to-intermediate CAD drafting for solar layouts and execution drawings. The candidate will work closely with the engineering, procurement, and execution teams to ensure cost efficiency, technical accuracy, and timely project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Quantity Surveying & Cost Control

Prepare detailed BOQs, cost estimates, and budgets for solar power projects (MW / rooftop / ground-mounted).

Perform quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications.

Manage vendor comparisons, rate analysis, and cost optimization.

Prepare and verify RA bills, final bills, and reconciliation statements.

Track project costs against budgets and report deviations.

Assist in tender documentation, technical-commercial evaluations, and contract review.

Coordinate with procurement and site teams for material planning and utilization.

CAD Design & Technical Support

Prepare and modify AutoCAD drawings for:

Solar module layout plans

Mounting structure layouts

Inverter room / control room layouts

Cable routing and basic electrical layouts

Support engineering teams with as-built drawings and revisions.

Interpret engineering drawings for accurate quantity calculations.

Ensure drawings comply with project specifications and site conditions.

Site Coordination & Documentation

Coordinate with site engineers, consultants, and subcontractors.

Conduct periodic site visits for quantity verification and drawing validation.

Maintain proper documentation for approvals, billing, and audits.

Required Qualifications

Diploma / B.E / B.Tech in Civil Engineering / Electrical Engineering or related field.

Certification or proven experience in AutoCAD is mandatory.

Experience

3-7 years of experience in solar projects / EPC / infrastructure / power sector.

Hands-on experience in quantity surveying and billing for solar or electrical projects.

Practical exposure to solar project layouts and execution drawings preferred.

Technical Skills:

AutoCAD (Mandatory)

MS Excel (Advanced - formulas, costing formats)

BOQ preparation and rate analysis

Familiarity with solar components: modules, MMS, inverters, DC/AC cabling

Soft Skills & Competencies

Strong analytical and cost-control mindset

Attention to detail and accuracy

Good coordination and communication skills

Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines

Practical, execution-oriented approach

Preferred (Added Advantage)

Experience in MW-scale solar plants

Knowledge of MNRE / DISCOM / EPC standards

Familiarity with project scheduling and reconciliation
