The Quantity Surveyor (QS Engineer) is responsible for managing all costs related to
construction projects, ensuring optimal utilization of resources, accurate quantity take-offs, cost control, billing, and coordination with site and procurement teams to ensure projects are completed within budget and timelines.
Key Responsibilities
? Prepare Bill of Quantities, quantity take-offs, and cost estimates as per drawings and
specifications
? Monitor project costs, budgets, and variations throughout the project lifecycle
? Verify and process contractor bills, subcontractor bills, and client running bills
? Prepare rate analysis for new and extra items
? Coordinate with site engineers, procurement, and accounts teams for material
reconciliation and cost tracking
? Maintain records of measurements, drawings, and approvals
? Assist in tendering, negotiations, and finalization of contracts
? Track material consumption vs bill of quantities and highlight deviations
? Prepare monthly cost reports and MIS for management review
? Ensure compliance with contract terms, specifications, and company standards
Qualifications & Skills
? Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Civil Engineering
? Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor / QS Engineer in construction projects
? Strong knowledge of BOQs, billing, contracts, and estimation
? Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD
? Good understanding of construction drawings and specifications
? Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
? Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines
