Job Description

Cost estimation:

Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documents to prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment.

Budget management:

Develop and monitor project budgets, tracking costs and preparing progress and cost-tracking reports.

Quantity takeoff:

Calculate the quantities of materials and labor needed, often referred to as Bills of Quantities (BOQ).

Contract administration:

Prepare and review contracts, and manage contractual issues or disputes as they arise.

Risk assessment:

Conduct risk assessments and implement controls to mitigate potential project risks.

Collaboration:

Work with project managers, engineers, and other departments to discuss estimates and resolve issues.

Negotiation:

Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favorable rates.

Quality assurance:

Ensure that the project's financial and contractual aspects meet quality standards and client requirements.
