The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects from inception to completion. The role includes cost estimating, budgeting, contract administration in NHI or Railway Projects.
Cost Estimation and Budgeting:
Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
Preparation of first principal costing.
Tendering:
Assist with the preparation of tender documents and the procurement process for comparative statements.
Cost Control and Management:
Monitor project costs throughout the construction process, identifying potential savings and overruns.
Conduct regular cost reporting by preparing cost to completion against awarded orders and forecasting to keep stakeholders informed.
Detailed verification of RA/Final Bill submitted by contractor/Supplier in line with contract terms and conditions.
Identification of Non-scheduled items and capturing the same in Cost to complete from GFC drawings or as per actual site conditions.
Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations while certification of Bills.
Contract Administration:
Administer the terms and conditions of contracts with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
Site Visits and Inspections:
Conduct regular site visits to cross check the claim raised by service provider against submitted Bill.
Co-ordination with the execution team to ensure work has been carried out as per technical specification of awarded BOQ and for approved method statements.
Reporting and Documentation:
Prepare detailed reports on the financial status of the project like bill and budget tracker including cost tracking and change orders.
Maintain comprehensive records of contracts, payments, invoices, and other financial documents.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with architects, engineers, project managers, and stakeholders.
Provide expert advice on cost-effective solutions and value engineering as and when required.
Qualifications
Education
: Bachelors degree in civil engineering
Experience:
Proven experience in quantity surveying or cost management in the construction industry for 4+Years.
Skills
Proficiency in cost estimation software and tools.
Auto CAD
Roads estimator.
Strong knowledge of construction processes, costs, and project management principles.
Familiarity with contract management and legal considerations in construction.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
