Analyze project plans, specifications, and drawings to understand the scope of work.
Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.
Review and assess tender documents, contracts, and other related documentation.
Cost Analysis:
Conduct cost comparison and analysis of subcontractor and supplier quotes.
Identify potential cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
Develop and maintain a cost database for benchmarking and future reference.
Quantity Takeoffs:
Perform accurate quantity takeoffs for materials required for each phase of the project.
Measure and calculate the total quantities of materials, labor, and equipment needed.
Risk Management:
Identify and assess potential risks that could impact project costs.
Develop strategies to mitigate risks and ensure cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
Reporting and Documentation:
Prepare and present detailed reports on project estimates, budgets, and timelines to stakeholders.
Maintain accurate records of all estimates, contracts, and correspondence.
Update estimates as project scopes change or new information becomes available.
Collaboration:
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and architects to ensure alignment on project goals and budgets.
Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and other external parties to obtain competitive pricing and ensure project requirements are met.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
5- 7 years of experience in quantity estimating, cost estimation, or quantity surveying in the construction industry.
Proficiency in estimating software and strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in calculations.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
