The Quantity Surveyor - Highways & Roads will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost planning, estimation, measurement, billing, and contract administration for highway and road construction projects. The role ensures effective cost control, accurate quantity measurements, and compliance with project specifications and contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Quantity Estimation & Cost Control
Prepare detailed quantity take-offs, BOQs, and cost estimates for highway and road projects.
Analyze drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
Monitor project costs and control budgets throughout the project lifecycle.
2. Measurement & Billing
Measure executed work as per drawings and site records.
Prepare and verify running account (RA) bills, final bills, and variation claims.
Certify subcontractor bills and verify vendor invoices.
3. Contracts & Documentation
Assist in contract administration and maintain contractual documentation.
Evaluate variation orders, extra items, and rate analysis.
Support claim preparation and reconciliation with clients and consultants.
4. Coordination & Site Support
Coordinate with site engineers, planning engineers, and project managers.
Conduct joint measurements with clients/consultants.
Provide quantity-related inputs during project meetings.
5. Reporting & Compliance
Prepare cost reports, reconciliation statements, and progress reports.
Ensure compliance with relevant standards, specifications, and contractual terms.
Maintain proper records of measurements, bills, and approvals.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
Certification in Quantity Surveying or Contract Management (preferred).
Minimum
3-7 years
of experience in quantity surveying for
highways and road projects
.
Experience in EPC / BOT / HAM projects will be an advantage.
Strong knowledge of highway construction activities and specifications (MoRTH, IRC).
Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Excel.
Familiarity with billing software / ERP systems (preferred).
Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical documents.
