A Quantity Surveyor (Civil) is responsible for managing all aspects of contractual and financial matters in civil construction projects. This includes cost estimation, budgeting, tender preparation, contract administration, and ensuring cost-efficiency throughout the project lifecycle. The role requires close collaboration with project teams, contractors, and clients to deliver projects within budget and in compliance with contractual agreements.

Key Responsibilities:
Cost Estimation and Budgeting:
Prepare accurate cost estimates for civil construction projects.
Develop project budgets and track expenses against allocated funds.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and advise on value engineering.
Tender Preparation and Evaluation:
Prepare bills of quantities (BOQs), schedules of rates, and tender documents.
Analyze and evaluate bids from contractors and suppliers.
Negotiate contract terms to ensure favorable conditions for the project.
Contract Administration:
Manage contracts, including variations, extensions, and dispute resolution.
Prepare and review payment applications, progress claims, and final accounts.
Ensure adherence to contractual terms and compliance with industry standards.
Project Monitoring and Reporting:
Track project progress and compare actual costs with budgets.
Prepare periodic cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and financial summaries.
Highlight potential risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
Documentation and Compliance:
Maintain accurate records of contracts, invoices, and project documentation.
Ensure compliance with local construction regulations and legal requirements.
Support project audits by providing necessary financial data.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
Work closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to align costs with design and execution plans.
Communicate with clients, contractors, and suppliers to address cost-related concerns.
