The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing all financial and contractual aspects of our interior design projects. This role is critical in ensuring projects are completed within the defined budget and to the highest quality standards. You will work closely with our creative designers, architects, and trusted contractors to prepare detailed cost estimates, manage budgets, oversee contracts, and ensure overall financial efficiency from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Estimation and Budgeting:
o Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, and all other project-related expenses.
o Develop, manage, and maintain comprehensive project budgets, providing clear financial roadmaps for stakeholders.
Contract Management:
o Draft, review, and administer contracts with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors.
o Ensure strict compliance with all contractual terms and obligations throughout the project lifecycle.
Cost Control:
o Continuously monitor project expenditures, tracking them against the approved budget.
o Proactively identify potential cost overruns and implement effective cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
Tendering and Procurement:
o Prepare comprehensive tender documents for bidding processes.
o Evaluate bids and proposals from contractors and suppliers, and lead negotiations to secure favourable terms.
Valuation and Payment:
o Assess the value of work completed on-site for interim payments.
o Prepare and certify payment applications and manage the settlement of final accounts upon project completion.
Risk Management:
o Identify, analyze, and develop strategies to mitigate potential financial risks associated with each project.
Reporting:
o Prepare and present regular, detailed cost reports and financial forecasts for project managers, clients, and senior management.
Collaboration:
o Work seamlessly with designers, architects, project managers, and contractors to ensure efficient, collaborative, and successful project delivery.
